Conditions and Grading
All records are visually graded unless noted in the description. Our record grading scale is fair and conservative. We use the following guidelines when grading records*:
Near Mint (NM)
Vinyl is nearly flawless with the possibility of a very minor paper sleeve scuff. It should play without any noise throughout the flaw. The vinyl still maintains its original shine and luster.
Excellent or Very Good Plus Plus (VG++)
Vinyl may show minor scuffs that are only slightly visible. They may be more that a few scuffs but NO SCRATCHES. Vinyl still maintains 80-100% of its original shine and luster.
Very Good Plus (VG+)
Vinyl shows some signs wear and scuffs. The flaws will be visible under normal lighting conditions. The vinyl still maintains 70-100% of its original shine and luster. Some light noise may be possible during quiet passages in the record, and in the lead-in and lead-out areas of the record an occasional pop is also possible. Light scratches may be present but not severe enough that they can be felt with your finger.
Very Good (VG)
Vinyl shows surface wear and scuffs. Some scratches may be present. Flaws are visible under normal lighting. The record will still play through without any skips but there may be some surface noise. Vinyl still maintains 50-100% of its original shine and luster. (You’re typical used, played, but not abused copy)
Good (G)
This grade will usually not be listed unless it’s a very rare and hard to find title, simply because the record is not good enough. Numerous scratches, very heavy tracking and little luster along with a loss in sound dynamics will be present in this grade. May still maintain some luster and shine. Surface noise may be present throughout the entire record.
*Any other flaws present in the record not mentioned under the following grades, such as cutouts, or writing on labels will be mentioned in the ad’s description.
