Conditions and Grading

I use the Record Collector Grading System.
I never grade anything as Mint except New Items.
If 7" and 12" singles have a PS it will be noted in the description.
A grading of EX for a cover does not mean that the cover is a picture sleeve.
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

CDs: CDs are graded visually and any defects will be noted in the description. I do not grade plastic CD cases as they are easily replaced, unless they are Digipaks or Custom Card sleeves, in which case they will be graded as vinyl covers.
78s: 78s are graded visually but, as is well known, even a perfect looking 78 can have surface noise. I try to provide an audio grade in my 78 description but I don't have time to do every one. Please contact me about any item and I will be happy to give you an audio grading.

Return Policy

Lost In Post - If an item is lost in the mail, or damaged in transit, a refund or credit will only be given if the item has been sent by Signed For postage.
Damaged In Transit - See above.
Wrong Item Ordered - If the buyer has ordered the wrong item then I am happy to offer a refund of the purchase price, minus the postage, once I have received the item back in the condition in which it was sent. The customer is responsible for the return postage.
If I Get It Wrong - If I ship an item which is wrong or not as described I will issue a full refund on return of the item and I will also cover postage costs.
