Grading:
Cover Condition/Media Condition in grade columns
"Mint+" we can state that the record has not been played either because it is sealed or we can verify its history.
"NM" The surface of the record has no flaws that can be seen under extreme bright light.

"Excellent" Will show very light handling marks that may cause a faint brief intermittent background noise. (i.e. paper scuffs).

"VG+" Will have light surface marks that can be observed under direct light. None of the marks will be feel able. Should play with a minumum of noise.
"VG" will have signs of play wear but will still play almost perfectly throughout, with only infrequent faint crackles or ticks.
"G" Noticeable scratches and other signs of wear, that will probably cause background noise. LP should play through completely without skips or sticking. Depending on the type of music, the listeners equipment and the rarity of the LP, a "G" record may be a acceptable until a better copy is located.

"Covers" Covers will be of equal condition to the vinyl unless indicted differently. Grading of covers will be more slightly different than vinyl. We do not mark down for inconsequential stamps, names etc that maybe placed on a cover, but we do give only A and B+ to covers, without any tears, seam splits, etc.
50"s LP's  Customers should appreciate the inherent quality issues of early 50's pressings. Some highly desirable performances were released by labels whose pressing qualities were second rate at best. As such we have a significant number of older LP's that are graded are graded at B, even though they show little or no play wear.
A significant number of older LP's have had an acid reaction from storage in their original sleeves, that causes what we refer to as "paper contact stains - PCS" Sometimes this reaction has been so severe as to "etch" the vinyl. The nature of the chemical reaction that occurs is such that it can cause wide variations in surface noise, that in turn can vary from system to system. Our visual grading tries to take into account the probable effect of PCS on a record's sound.
Any variations from these standards will be described in the listing on those occasions when we feel the importance or rarity of the record justifies its consideration.

All LP's are cleaned with a Nitty-Gritty 1.5fi prior to shipment.
