Except for that time several months back when I stood away for a while due to things getting a little busy and hectic with my business/work, speaking for myself sometimes you may not hear from me for a few days to a week or so if there is a forum thread topic(s) to which I have no expertise, or which I feel that I have nothing worthwhile to contribute, or which is of little or no interest me. Those would be the likely candidates for the reason to my absence or silence.
well i was on vacation for 2 weeks .. so lotta rockin and rolling to
the music conventions for shows on DVDs and hookups..with vendors and private guys..
i got in contact with the biggest contact in the city.. who also goes to europe and japan
so anything i want he has....
and i mean anything hes got over 3000 lps.. i told they parking attendant
i would be only 30 mins..but ended up taking 2hours looking at all that inventory
i was blown away..
so a lot of that and trips to the garage snow tires off ..break job...
all kinds of things ..
Hey Brian ... That's what I need ... a good vacation, but I can never seem to find the time! Sounds like you hooked up with some great contacts. You should be all set for a while with your music wants and needs.
Hey VJ ...
If you had typed in a few more exclamation points I would have had to check to see if any went around the back of my computer screen! (lol)

LOL, you know what they say about avid record collectors, right? You are NEVER really "all set for a while with your musical wants and needs". In other words Cosmo, a record collector can NEVER have enough records. It is a constant quest to purchase something, even if you think you don't need it or not. As a matter of fact, speaking for myself personally, I have to keep away from any record shops, otherwise out of habit I will feel compelled to at least buy something I want, whether it is a need for my collection or not!
As far as the exclamation points are concerned. Well...........you can't exactly say that they didn't grab your attention, correct? So, I guess they served their purpose for exactly what I needed them to do at the moment. I will try to make my posts a little less annoying sometime.
However, now that Brian is here, you will look up at the top and you will see that the post subject title will now be edited to just one exclamation mark as of this writing............
well i did notice
that VJs finger got stuck on the exclamation mark!!...
but thats nice ...
so what do you think i will be getting the bruce springsteen 10lp box set
in 3 weeks i think its 1973 - 1980`s
live performances ,demos..all kinds of stuff with a 20 page book..
of course its a "private pressing"
but i hear its a treasure to own..for any spriingsteen fan..of the old stuff..
Yes Brian, I do think that Bruce Springsteen box set will be a treat for Springsteen fans for sure. I will definitely have to check it out myself to see what it is all about.....
Speaking of box sets..........
I went to my local record shop to see if they had any spare copies of the colored vinyl Heavy Nuggs Flaming Lips box set of their first 5 Warner Brothers label albums and they did. So, I paid the piper $125.00 and it is now all mine! This box is also a limited edition to just 1,000 copies! Cool set! Each LP comes with a booklet inside each LP! Can't wait to hear it when I get a chance......
I am not sure if you like the Flaming Lips, so I could be rattling off my mouth here for nothing, unless you do like them and I just never knew about it?

Driz, ahh he popped in not too long ago, but mysteriously he disappeared again? Hmm, perhaps he hasn't been feeling inspired to post or maybe he just plain got burned out?
I haven't a clue.....
Again, I don't recall which thread it was, but he made one brief utterance and did a complete disappearing act!
People come and go all of the time in places like this. Maybe he is still trying to "chase" some of that vinyl he has on his list down as he would always say. It would be nice to hear from him again........

I know record collecting is a non-stop never-ending quest and adventure VJ, and collectors NEVER seem to have enough records, and many times there are always those elusive ones that they just can't mange to seem to locate or get their hands on.
What I meant was that Brian makes it sound like those contacts he made are pretty well stocked and have quite a vinyl inventory, and that they will be able to supply him with whatever he wants and needs for sometime to come.
Also VJ, it was mentioned that friend Driz has been absent ans a little quiet lately. Have you also noticed that we have not heard anything from our friend Stanley Messmer for quite a while as well??!!
