Music Lounge
| Trying to ascertain what I might have on a blank LP | |
|
|
I am a book dealer and sell rare books. I am trying to expand what I sell and recently I have purchased some music on vinyl and want to sell them. I currently have an LP that appears to be a test pressing and the only information I have is the #etching on the LP, which states: * - J.T.S. - * and INC - 3 - 125 AA2 - on the other side it is the same exept the AA2 is different and says: A.
I have played one side, it sounds like house music and I purchased it alongside another blank LP and I was able to ascertain that the other one was a test pressing by Digital Boy.
On the LP that I am trying to research, after listening to it, I can say that the first words of the song are: '[WE CONTROL THE FACE'. These are spoken firmly and clearly by a male voice], then there is a lot of instrumental and other words may be:
I can f...eel an emotional high...
I want to [------? ---------?] with you baby....
Then it comes back to: WE CONTROL THE FACE.
I'm baffled and wonder if anyone can offer any help, suggestions please? I am new to all this.
Regards
Martin

hummm..
well maybey google search the information..
some info may be out there.. pesonally if its unknown..
could be just some artist that cut a test press for a record
company probably nothing ...
usually test presses have some indication of the band or shortend
song title.. i know ive seen a motley crue one it was a white sleeve
and had the titles kick start and feelgood and some other working titles
that ended up being Kickstart my heart and Dr Feelgood..

Hello Brian,
I've checked and double checked but all I can find is #etching on the LP, which states: * - J.T.S. - * and INC - 3 - 125 AA2 - on the other side it is the same exept the AA2 is different and says: A.
I have been listening to it though and it's definitely what people call house or techno music. It's quite good as well so I'll keep on trying to find out. I've got a friend who used to be a DJ so I'll take it to him and let him listen, he just might be the right guy for the job.
Thanks though for taking time out to help me, I appreciate it.
Regards
Martin

Handsome Furs, from Canada, 2nd album is titled "Face Control" but none of the lyrics match what you have. Their "sound", however, does match your description. Since there is no "title" cut on the album's tracklist and since what you have appears to be a test pressing, could be they did it and decided not to include it on the album. Wouldn't be the first time that's happened.
