The craziest thing happened this month. My favorite album - Neutral Milk Hotel's Airplane Over The Sea LP- went out of print! For 10 years Merge has been printing and selling this album for $10 and as a record store owner I guess I expected it to always be so. It shouldn't have surprised me as much as it did, with Merge/TouchNGo/Quarterstick Distributors going out of business this year like it did, but to see this staple shoot from ten to fifty dollars online got me wishing I'd ordered more copies for the store.
So I thought maybe I'd start an online resource for tracking LPs that go OOP, for fellow store owners and record collectors, buyers and sellers. Not all OOP stuff, mind you, just the ones you could still order new that drop out of distribution. As this is my favorite LP site to browse I figured I'd try it here. If you add to this thread, I'll periodically confirm your add and reprint the list in it's entirety. So, lemme start with Airplane and see what happens.
Cheers~ Jack

Of course both Neutral Milk Hotel albums only went out of print on vinyl so they could put out a more expensive 180 gm vinyl edition with mp3 download. Haven't seen new editions yet but do not think there are any additions.
