Will there be a re-issue of 2112 on vinyl in the near future?

I am sure that is almost a definite possibility! The reason is because they are reissuing everything else that was once on vinyl before, let alone new modern/current material that is coming out today. So why not Rush 2112, right?
I think the explanation for the lag in reissuing a lot of titles on vinyl may perhaps just have to do with the fact that a lot of the record companies, especially the major ones, are so backed up that they are having a hard time trying to keep up with the current supply & demands needing to be met, regarding many vinyl titles that have not yet come out yet. And also, because of the large growing demand for titles, due to the vinyl revival from over the past couple of years, may be another reason for the backlog of vinyl titles not being reissued. When you consider how much music comes out everyday in this world, then you also can consider too the amount of vinyl that is pressed everyday just to keep up with the current demands of those vinyl lovers that are in high demand of the product, then you see what I mean.
So, getting back to the question again in the affirmative........
Will Rush 2112 be reissued any time soon on vinyl? Yes, but when is another question. Also, you need to consider that if you look hard enough, this is such a common enough title that you needn't look too far past your local used record store to find a near mint original copy from the 70's under $10.00 easily anyway. Regardless, though, if people are insistent upon purchasing a reissue, chances are, if you wait around long enough, it is more likely than not it will be reissued on vinyl.
And, yes, a very great classic record indeed!

Yes Brian, that is something that a lot of times I don't seem to quite get. It is when common titles such as Rush' 2112 getting reissued on vinyl is in demand when that record was so popular at the time there was like thousands of copies sold. This has made it not only a cult success for it's time, but it is really a very common record to purchase domestically to begin with!

I bought a used copy and it was only a few bucks, but it is wore to the hell out. I feel kind of burned, and hope to get a reissue as well. That and a couple other of their signature albums.

Yes, I do own the U.S. Mercury pressing, but I would like to get the Canadian original too. I am wondering if it would truthfully make a difference in sound between the U.S. & the Canadian pressing? I dunno, maybe not?

well VJ.. mine is on the Anthem Label..sound is very good!!
im wondering if they made that lp as 2 songs or like jethro tulls
thick as a brick and be 2112 side a and part 2 on side b..what impact
it would have made or if side one was 4 or 5 songs like on side 2..
what it whould have been like i really think side 2 is great and it would
be nice if side 1 had more songs..or mabey a double lp.. that would be coooool..
