Star Ratings
Star ratings are calculated by an algorithm based on weighted averages from how well you perform on the MusicStack system. There is nothing manual about your star rating (so please don't ask if we can adjust it because we can not).
Your star rating takes into account your Fill Rate (which is how many orders you have shipped vs. how many orders you didn't because they were not available), how quickly you process orders, how quickly you respond to emails, how fast you ship items (if you take credit card orders) and very minimally your feedback rating from customers. Feedback is hardly taken into consideration since feedback is so subjective and not left consistently.
How Do I Get A Higher Star Rating?
There is no shortcut to getting a better rating. The only way is through providing more accurate inventory listings and prompt customer service.
Keep Your Inventory Accurate
Not having items when people order is very disappointing for customers and is one of the biggest factors that can hurt your star rating. Keep your inventory accurate and your fill rate as close to 100% as possible and your rating will go up.
If you are having problems with your Fill Rate, try using some of the tools we make available for keeping your inventory accurate which can be found under Seller Admin and do more regular updates to your catalog.
Provide Fast Customer Service
I can't stress this enough. People don't want to wait. The quicker you are at answering emails and shipping out your orders the better your rating will be. Don't expect a 5 star rating if it takes you 2-3 days to get back to customers.
Lastly, the star rating is based on 180 days worth of data we collect on you based on interactions with your customers, orders, emails and inventory. If your Fill Rate is worse then you would like or you have been slow on responding to orders and emails, start improving your customer service and gradually over time the poor statistics in your 180 day average will be replaced with better ones and your star rating will go up.
