Backorder items
You can sell items you do not have in stock on MusicStack but we require that you list these items as Backorder/Ordered on Demand items ahead of time.
If you do not follow this simple rule for backorder items we will ask you to stop using our service permanently.
We require backorder items be marked as such so that buyers can (rightfully so) know ahead of time that they will be waiting extra time for you to get the product in stock before it can be delivered to them.
We want buyers to safely assume that if an item is listed on MusicStack that it is available for immediate purchase and delivery unless it is marked as a backorder item.
To accurately reflect this on our system you need to either select that all your inventory is Ordered on Demand / Backorder by selecting the radio button option on the upload screen, or place a negative number in the quantity column for items that you do not have in your physical inventory. An example of this would setting your quanitity field to -2.
Also, to keep buyers in the know, you should declare in the Backorder Policies section on the seller information page your policies regarding ordering backorder items from you and approximately how long it will take for the buyer to receive such items from you.
Keep in mind that not marking items as backorder items ahead of time will not only will get you in trouble with MusicStack, but it will upset the customer buying from you and will also ruin your Time to Ship seller statistic. This is also a great reason for buyers to want to leave damaging negative feedbacks about your store.
