Uploading Inventory - Files Formats
The only way to get your inventory into our system is to use our patented self-service Inventory Upload System. We do not offer FTP or emailing files as a way to get your inventory listed.
Our Inventory Upload System is real time, so once you are uploaded, your inventory is instantly available on the system.
To upload to MusicStack you must have your inventory in a file format that we accept.
Our system only accepts single sheet Excel spreadsheets (with no text formmating in it) or text delimited file formats that Tab, CSV, Pipe or Comma delimited.
These files can uploaded uncompressed or can be compressed with PKZIP and then uploaded.
Column Ordering: The column ordering of your upload file does not matter at all to MusicStack. As long as the file is an Excel or tab delimited file, our system will be able to read it.
The column ordering of your file can be any order because when you upload to MusicStack, you will tell us the exact column ordering of your file using dropdown menus on our upload screen.
Columns Accepted: Your inventory file can contain any of the following columns (in any order):
Artist, Title, Format, Price (in any currency), Quantity, Label, Release ID, Release Country, Release Date, Condition, Genre, Image/Audio URL, Thumbnail/Audio URL, Description, Reference/Tracking Number, Date Added
If you have other columns in your data file, they can be left in and can either be marked to be ignored (ie, Do Not Use), or they can be added to the description field.
A good example of a column that is commonly ignored by our system would the column in your database that lists how much you paid for an item.
If you don't have an inventory upload file to use yet, or are not sure what one would look like Download a sample Excel spreadsheet that contains the above column headers and a sample listing. This sample file is only one example of what your database file could look like. Your actual file could have less or more columns, or the column ordering could be completley different. Either way it will work with our system!
