Admiring Taylor Swift and Her Music

I really admire singers who can write their own music. I particularly have very high regard for musical artists who compose, play and sing their own songs. In my opinion, when God gifted them with sheer musical talent, it all came in one pretty package with gold gift wrap and red ribbons and a shiny gift tag with their name on it.
Seriously, such artists who are just brimming with musical talent are a gift to the world. You just can’t suppress their innate ability to compose songs and share their music with others. They will write songs to express how they feel, to communicate with others the sentiments they can’t say upfront, or simply to make others feel better or keep them in touch with their humanity. They do this in a creative and poetic way that is even made more artistic with their impressive use of music.
Lately, I’ve been finding myself drawn to the music of Taylor Swift. I’ve heard good reviews about her and I’ve also read a couple of articles where I found out that she loved to write her own songs. In fact, she even turned down an attractive deal with a record label because the company wouldn’t let her write her own music. That really hiked my admiration meter for her. Not only is she a gifted musical artist, she also knows when to stand up for her own music. And, if I may say, it’s providential that she didn’t sign up with the recording company that tried to deprive her of her own music. Such suppression would have deprived us of her beautiful songs that are now consistently topping music charts all over the world.
I love singing along with Taylor Swift’s songs. I think a great part of her musical success lies in the fact that her songs are easy to sing (and considerably easy to play on the guitar or piano) and that the meaning that lies behind her lyrics has the ability to instantly tug at the heartstrings and awaken in her listeners the emotions that they all can relate to.
Three of her songs that I particularly like best are “Teardrops on My Guitar,” “Love Story,” and “Breathe.” I also love listening to her other songs, but those three are the ones I sing more often and even tried playing on my guitar. I was also amazed at how many guitar tutorial videos and song covers were uploaded on YouTube by users who also loved Taylor Swift’s music.
There are so many versions of “Love Story” on YouTube, and some users who posted their cover of the song did exceptionally well. I myself am a big fan of the song. It’s cute in its way of telling a story with the use of Romeo and Juliet as the central characters in the song’s love story. The pre-chorus lyrics talk about their forbidden love with the words “That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles. My daddy said stay away from Juliet, and I was crying by the staircase begging you please don’t go.”
In the chorus party, Taylor, as Juliet, calls on Romeo to take her with him where they can cherish their fairy tale – “Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone. I’ll be waiting; all there’s left to do is run. You’ll be the prince and I’ll be princess. It’s a love story, baby, just say yes.”
The YouTube videos are very helpful in providing chord and strum guides to Taylor Swift’s songs. Countless YouTube subscribers gave different versions of the songs, and some even provided step-by-step instructions on how to do the plucking and strumming parts. What more, each video received thousands of page views already and so many users have posted comments on each video and talked about how they, too, loved Taylor Swift’s songs.
