A Celine Dion Song That Makes the Spirit Soar

My cousin sought my advice regarding a possible song she could use as background music for her school film project. She let me watch the rough edit version of the scenes and I saw that the movie was a love story that had a very emotionally uplifting ending.
While I was watching the last part of the movie where my cousin said she needed to play a song as background music, I was instantly reminded of the melody of a Celine Dion song I recently heard. At first I couldn’t pin Down the title of the song, so we surfed through Celine Dion’s songs online to find the song I had in mind.
I recognized the song right away by its upbeat intro music and Celine’s distinguishable humming. The song’s title is “I’m Alive” and my cousin agreed that it was a perfect track for her movie. “I’m Alive” describes how love can lift a woman’s spirit and make her soar to the sky above. It comes with the simple but apt lyrics that say “When you call on me, when I hear you breathe, I get wings to fly. I feel that I’m alive… When you look at me, I can touch the sky. I know that I’m alive… When you bless the day, I just drift away. All my worries die. I’m glad that I’m alive… You’ve set my heart on fire, filled me with love, made me a woman on clouds above.”
The song’s message may be a little bit mushy, but it speaks true of the power of love – that anything is possible if a person does something for and out of love. Indeed, there’s no other feeling in this world that can match the uplifting emotion that love brings. It can compel people to do the impossible and reach for greater heights. Most of all, love also enables people to endure trials and live through the darkest times of their lives.
Such is also the power of Celine Dion’s songs. Her powerful vocals can render emotions that can shake the soul. She sings beautiful songs that make for perfect movie soundtracks. In fact, she has a number of songs that have been used in several great movies, such as the internationally memorable hit “My Heart Will Go On,” which is forever associated with the phenomenal global blockbuster Titanic.
“I’m Alive” was also used as soundtrack to the sequel of the movie Stuart Little in 2002, the year Celine Dion’s album “A New Day Has Come” (where the track is included) was released. The song’s lyrics really fit the story of Stuart Little 2 and played well at the climax scene where the lead mouse Stuart was able to make his broken toy plane fly and he escaped from possible oblivion (and death) to rescue his Beloved lady bird, who was made to believe by the villain falcon that Stuart was dead. It’s a very exciting scene, and the song’s animated beat goes well with it.
I told my cousin that she could still listen to other songs and possibly find another soundtrack for her movie, but she resolved to use Celine Dion’s “I’m Alive” in the denouement part of her movie towards the final credits. I said it’s a good choice for a soundtrack and that the song was a good match to her film’s theme. Now, only needs to inquire regarding the song’s usage permits, whether or not she still needs to ask official permission if she’s only using it for a school film project.
