Payable On Death

    P.O.D. come back wielding a sword of flames, so to speak. Darker, heavier and more lyrically demanding than the band's 2001 breakthrough, Satellite, Payable makes the necessary concessions to mainstream popularity without losing any of the bite that won the band a huge following in the first place.

On 2001's "Satellite," these Christian groove-metalers delivered razor-sharp guitars for listeners who might otherwise have been turned off by frontman Sonny Sandoval's proselytizing rhymes. On Payable on Death, that tension has slackened. Bloated riffs churn over bludgeoning beats while Sandoval experiments with more soulful melodies ("Will You") and reggae-lite toasting
