An R&B vocalist originally from Trinidad, Heather Headley first found fame on the stage, flexing her acting and singing chops in Broadway mega-hits such as The Lion King and Aida. On her debut album, she delivers strong but tender songs with a decidedly autobiographical angle. The single "I Wish IWasn't" was nominated for a Grammy in 2004.
