 Endo Songs For The Restless
| |
Metal fans are not the most forgiving when it comes to "their" bands climbing off the hardcore mantel. So, it won't be a shocker when the cry goes up that Endo sold out. The band's 2001 debut, Evolve, was chock full of metal benchmarks -- distorted guitars and basses, a screaming singer and technical arrangements. Songs for the Restless strays a bit from that formula: It's more pure rock than industrial metal, it's more hook-laden (check "Simple Lies" and "Remember Us"), and singer Gil Bitton is singing lines like "Love will save us" (from "Circles") as opposed to spitting out "Leave us alone" (from Evolve's "Leave Us Alone"). But there's still enough hard stuff here for Read More new and old fans alike. DAVID JOHN FARINELLA (July 28, 2003)
