Jones's sophomore effort builds on the sleek urban vibe he cultivated in My Heart (1996). The songs may not be ultradeep, but Jones knows how to craft a hook. He's got a classy, intimate delivery that recalls a mix of Michael Jackson circa Thriller and Stevie Wonder. Standouts include the title track and "U Know What's Up.

On the title track, for instance, Jones mulls severing a relationship with his childhood sweetheart before embarking upon a lusty spree, while on "All Her Love" he sings about being in a triangle with someone who's only there "half the time." Lest you think he's soft, Jones trades in his post-Stevie Wonder side for between-the-sheets beats: The relaxed cushion of funk that pushes the opener, "U Know What's Up," quickly gives way to no-nonsense grooves on the single "Shorty (Got Her Eyes on Me)."
